Facing life with a smile is hard when you're missing some or all of your teeth. Dental implants are an advanced, reliable, tooth replacement solution to help you chew better, feel better, and live healthier - all on your terms.

 Tooth Implants Garland, TX

Overview

Our teeth play a major role in our daily lives. We use them to break pieces of food apart so that we can digest meals properly. They allow us to speak and communicate effectively by helping us form sounds and words. From an appearance standpoint, they help define how we smile, express emotion, and interact with people. But our teeth also affect our health. Poor dental hygiene can lead to a range of diseases and other concerns. In essence, our teeth are paramount to our emotional, physical, and social well-being.

It makes sense, then, that life gets harder when some or all of your teeth are missing. Unfortunately, missing teeth is a common issue in the United States. Almost one-third of Americans are missing teeth. In the next 15 years, half a billion Americans will need new pearly whites.

Whether due to genetics, accidents, or neglect, losing your teeth hurts - both emotionally and physically. And, up until now, it was unbelievably expensive to have them replaced.

Fortunately, with Renew's state-of-the-art dental implants Near Garland, TX, you can get a new set of teeth easier, faster, and healthier than ever before. The best part? You don't have to spend sports-car levels of money to get the full set of teeth you need.

What are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are a popular option for replacing missing teeth. Unlike some dental clinics that require multiple procedures, Renew's tooth replacement systems require just one surgical appointment. With regular care and professional cleaning from your dentist, your implants can last for the rest of your life.

Dental Implants 101

Dental implants are often the preferred choice for people considering total mouth restoration. Unlike temporary options, dental implants give you a permanent solution for preventing bone loss and renewing your smile. They're created using a small, threaded post that conforms to your jawbone over time. This fusion creates a double-strong anchor that secures your new teeth. Though dentures have a reputation for slipping and sliding in your mouth, dental implants always stay put. If you've been missing out on delicious flavor profiles or the chance to speak confidently, dental implants can be life-changing.

Typical dental implants are made up of three different parts:
Threaded Implant

Threaded Implant

You can think of this titanium screw as a new root for your teeth. It's anchored to your jaw during dental implant surgery.

Abutment

Abutment

An abutment is a small connector prosthetic that connects your dental implants and false teeth. You can think of an abutment as the foundation for your new teeth.

Crown

Crown

The crown of your new tooth is the visible part that you and others see in your mouth. Crowns are made using gorgeous materials and function just like other healthy teeth in your mouth.

Top Signs You Need Dental Implants Near Garland, TX

Dental implants can all but eliminate the need for repetitive dental work and dealing with missing teeth. Since they act like natural teeth roots, they stimulate your jaw, which prevents it from deteriorating. Plus, dental implants are placed with extreme care by experts, so you don't have to worry about damaging any healthy teeth. It's pretty clear that dental implants are great - but when do you need to get them? Here are a few common signs that you may be a good candidate.

One of the top reasons why people choose dental implants is that they're missing several or all of their teeth. Missing teeth can cause issues with self-consciousness and make it difficult to eat in general. Because dental implants replicate your natural teeth, they can help restore confidence and make eating easier and more enjoyable.

Missing-Teeth

Some people who have dentures, partials, or bridges still feel insecure about their smiles. And that's a shame because nobody should be embarrassed by their smile. If you feel that way, know this: You deserve to feel proud about your smile. Fortunately, dental implants can help. Dental implants can take your confidence to a whole new level. Those days and nights you spent refusing to smile for pictures... Forget about them. Better days are ahead when you have dental implants.

Insecurity

When you have missing teeth, it can be hard to indulge in your favorite foods. It seems like you're constantly on edge due to the pain and inconvenience. When you have dentures, you have to avoid a whole range of foods, like grilled meats and more. With dental implants from Renew you can have your steak and (literally) eat it, too.

Chew

One of the biggest downfalls of dental solutions like dentures is that they don't stimulate your jawbone. When your jawbone isn't stimulated correctly, you will eventually suffer from bone loss. This bone loss can create a sunken-in facial appearance. Dental implants fuse with your jawbone, providing the much-needed stimulus that prevents this from happening.

jawbone

If you or someone you know has had dentures, you know that using them and keeping them clean can be a hassle. After eating, you've got to take them out to be cleaned. Sometimes, you've got to apply denture adhesives to keep them in place. For most people, denture care is messy and monotonous. If you're sick of dealing with sticky adhesives and loose dentures in your mouth, you may want to consider dental implants.

What are the Benefits of Dental Implants?

One of the biggest reasons why people choose dental implants is that they look, feel, and work like natural teeth. Dental implants provide several other benefits, including:

Restored Function

If you've lost some or all of your teeth, you're missing out on a slew of functions that make life easier. With dental implants, you benefit from the same functionality as natural teeth.

You can bite into and chew tougher foods that you love, since your bite force is restored.

Dental implants fill in for missing molars, which helps you digest food better.

Dental Implant full mouth restoration options include both fixed removable and non-removable options. In both instances, you can brush just as you would with your natural teeth. With fixed removable solutions, the teeth can come out for extra cleaning and snap right back in. With fixed non-removable options, the teeth stay put and can not be removed, other than by a dental professional for deep cleaning.

 Implant Supported Dentures Garland, TX

Reliability

Dental implants eliminate one of the biggest concerns that denture-wearers have: their teeth slipping out of their mouth accidentally in public. Unlike dentures, implants are placed securely in your jaw. That means you can eat, talk, smile, and laugh without having to be nervous.

 Full Mouth Restoration Garland, TX

Lifetime Use

Some dental solutions for missing teeth only last for a few years. When cared for properly, dental implants can last for the rest of your life. Dental implants Near Garland, TX from Renew can cost up to 60% less than other dental implant options and come with a Lifetime Guarantee, making them an outstanding value.

 Multiple Tooth Implants Garland, TX

Jaw Strength

When there are gaps in the jawbone due to missing teeth, the bone in those areas can start to weaken from lack of stimulation. If the empty space isn't addressed quickly, the bone can lose up to 25% of its volume and will continue to deteriorate over time. Dental implants stimulate your jaw again, which strengthens your jawbone and prevents it from deteriorating.

 Permanent Tooth Implants Garland, TX

Avoid a Sunken-In Face

When your jawbone starts to deteriorate, the lower third part of your face can begin to sag or look sunken in due to bone loss. Because dental implants integrate with your jawbone and stimulate it daily, you can avoid a sunken facial appearance.

What is Full-Mouth Restoration?

logo-icon

A full mouth restoration, as the name suggests, involves rebuilding or replacing every tooth in your mouth. This procedure combines elements of dentistry and cosmetic surgery to restore both the function and structure of your teeth.

Your teeth are responsible for more than making your smile unique. They help you eat and communicate, too. When you lose your teeth, life changes. It's just that simple. Factors like poor dental care or mouth injuries can cause partial or complete tooth loss. In such situations, a dentist's goal is to restore your oral health and bring back your smile. At Renew, we do full dental replacements. They're not for everyone, but for those who need them, they're a great solution. But what does full mouth reconstruction entail? Let's dig in and find out.

A full-mouth reconstruction - also called a total or full-mouth restoration begins with extracting any remaining teeth before restoration can begin. If you have many missing teeth or your teeth are severely damaged or worn down, you may want to consider this procedure.

You may also want to think about full mouth restoration if you have specific dental conditions. For instance, amelogenesis, a disorder that causes teeth to develop in unusual shapes, and ectodermal dysplasia, which affects both skin and teeth, may require comprehensive reconstruction as you get older.

Dental Implants Garland, TX

Dental implants can fully restore your mouth without needing to rely on dentures or bridges. As we covered above, dental implants consist of a titanium post that is implanted into your jawbone. As the process of osseointegration progresses, the surrounding wound heals, firmly anchoring the post in place. Teeth are attached to the implants, restoring both the appearance and function.

 Tooth Implants Garland, TX

Did you know that one-tenth of people in the United States are missing all of their teeth? One of the most common reasons for missing teeth is tooth decay, a problem that affects many individuals, not just those who have lost teeth. While some of us may have had more dental fillings than others, we all continually battle against tooth decay.

Bacteria naturally inhabit our mouths, and when they feast on the sugars and starches from our food, they produce an acid that can harm our teeth. This acid gradually erodes the protective layer known as enamel. Once the enamel is compromised, the inner structures of our teeth can begin to decay. Keep an eye out for these signs of tooth decay:

  • Pain or Dull Aches
  • Sensitivity to Cold and Hot Temperatures
  • Sensitivity to Sweet Drinks and Foods
  • Pain
  • Swelling
  • Fever
  • Infection

When left untreated, tooth decay can rot your teeth and cause them to fall out. Along with tooth decay, be aware of these additional risk factors that cause your teeth to fall out.

Gum Disease

Gum disease and tooth loss often go hand-in-hand. Gum disease is a bacterial infection of the gums that can result in serious health problems. If the infection progresses, it can damage the bone that supports your teeth, potentially leading to tooth loss. You might notice swelling or redness in your gums, but often, the condition isn't painful, which means you might have it without even realizing it. If left untreated, gum disease can not only cause your teeth to fall out but also allow the infection to spread to other areas of your body.

A big cause of gum disease is from plaque accumulating on your teeth. Other factors that increase the likelihood of gum disease include:

  • Frequent Alcohol Consumption
  • Using Tobacco Products
  • Clenching or Grinding Your Teeth
  • Genetics
  • Poor Nutrition
  • Diabetes
  • Autoimmune Conditions and Diseases

Tooth Injuries

Losing your teeth due to an injury is a fairly common occurrence, especially for MMA fighters and boxers. But you don't have to be a combat sports athlete to lose your teeth. It can happen due to an injury, car accidents, accidents at work, or just getting hit in the face with a ball really hard, it doesn't take that much force to damage teeth and ruin someone's smile.

Missing teeth impact your oral health, but they also take a toll on your emotional and mental well-being. Ask yourself these questions:

  • Do you always turn down social gathering invitations?
  • Do you make it a point not to smile in photos?
  • Do you think you need to cover your mouth when you laugh to avoid embarrassment?

Renew's full mouth restoration can be the solution you've been searching for.

Steps of a Dental Implant Procedure

Have you ever wondered what's involved in a dental implant procedure and how long it takes? In the past, dental implant procedures were often considered long and painful. Today, dental implant surgeries are streamlined and tailored to your unique dental needs. At Renew, you can have new dental implants with a single surgery.

No, we're not pulling your leg. All it takes is one surgical appointment to get dental implants that feel, look, and function like natural teeth. By fixing your teeth on the same day as your surgery, treatment and recovery times are reduced. When your implant procedure is finished and you're fully healed, the sparkling-white teeth of your dreams become a reality. That crispy, juicy apple that's been calling your name? Go ahead and dig in. It's time to savor the flavor of life.

Garland Is Going All Out for Willie Nelson This Weekend

Fifty years ago, Willie Nelson transformed country music with the release of Red Headed Stranger. The album was recorded at Autumn Sound, a studio in Garland (now Audio Dallas Recording Studio). To celebrate the album’s anniversary and its ties to North Texas, Garland Cultural Arts and KXT 91.7 FM will be presenting ‘Songs and Stories Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Willie Nelson’s Red Headed Stranger’ on May 16 and May 17 in Downtown Garland to honor Nelson’s work and its lasting impact on popular culture.

A concept album about a man who kills his wife and her lover, Red Headed Stranger was a critical and commercial success, helping define the outlaw country music movement and making Nelson a luminary of the genre. Though some of his earlier work, like 1973’s Shotgun Willie, has lived on among fans, Red Headed Stranger was his first true blockbuster success.

The anniversary celebration will kick off May 16 at the Plaza Theatre with a special screening of the 1986 film Red Headed Stranger, which was inspired by the album and stars Nelson and Morgan Fairchild. Fairchild herself will be in attendance, taking part in a discussion about the original album’s legacy before the screening with author and journalist Michael Granberry, Nelson biographer Joe Nick Patoski, and musician Joshua Ray Walker.

On May 17, the party will move to the streets. From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., there will be free live music at venues around the square, including Fortunate Son, Intrinsic Brewery, and Dead Wax Records. One of Nelson’s touring buses, also called Red Headed Stranger, will be available for photo opportunities, while a shuttle will take visitors who purchase a ticket to Audio Dallas, where the interior remains virtually unchanged from when Nelson recorded the album.

That evening, Ray Benson, Rhett Miller, Joshua Ray Walker, and Max and Heather Stalling will take the stage at the Granville Arts Center to discuss Red Headed Stranger and its influence as they take turns playing songs from the album. Matt Hillyer will play lead guitar with a backing band led by the event’s Musical Director, John Pedigo.

Highlighting Downtown Garland

Amy Rosenthal, Cultural Arts Director for Garland, has helped spearhead efforts to make the Red Headed Stranger anniversary event a reality. She and her collaborators envision this as an opportunity to fully activate Garland’s downtown, which the city has invested heavily in to upgrade infrastructure and beautify the space.

“It’s been incredible to see everyone’s enthusiasm and passion,” says Rosenthal. “This project just really speaks to people in a certain special way. I mean… from the artists that have been influenced by this album to just recognizing that, hey, the birth of this really cool outlaw country music movement was right here in Dallas, you know, in Garland.”

Musician Jeff Ryan serves as creative director for the project, brought in by broadcaster Eric Nadel (the voice of the Texas Rangers), who was an early supporter of the event. Ryan already knew Amy Rosenthal and was able to hit the ground running, collaborating with her to secure the lineup of featured musicians for the celebration.

Speaking on the enduring legacy of Red Headed Stranger, Ryan says he sees it as a “massive, bold statement” by Willie Nelson.

“You know, he didn’t just go and record a record that someone else wanted him to record. He made the record that he wanted to make. Like, he literally set it up like a campfire in this very small studio in Garland, Texas…in 1975 and did it in a couple of days,” explains Ryan.

“Musically, what it means is that he stripped off all the Nashville-ness of what he was so immersed in for so long,” he continues. Everyone involved says they want to stay true to that minimalist approach when the album is performed in Garland.

“We’re not over-producing this,” says Rosenthal. “We are really going back…and taking our inspiration from the original recording.”

At the same time, Ryan says, they wanted to avoid just having the musicians sit on stage and play one song after another. The goal was to create something more interactive, with the performers arranged in a loose semi-circle on stage, with the same types of instruments that are on the album being played by a backing band. Once they have worked their way through Red Headed Stranger, the musicians may play some additional songs. Ray Benson, a friend of Nelson’s, will tell stories and bring historical context to the discussion, while the other musicians provide intergenerational perspectives on the album.

While Red Headed Stranger is the impetus for the event, the weekend will also be about celebrating Garland’s history, letting attendees experience its downtown in full bloom, and recognizing the city’s place in Texas’ cultural history. That history will be codified during the event, as representatives from the Texas Music Office will be on hand to certify Garland as a “Music Friendly City.”

“It’s just a celebration of everything about Garland,” says Ryan.

Tickets for ‘Songs and Stories Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Willie Nelson’s Red Headed Stranger’ are available now.

Alejandro Jaramillo, an animal control officer for the city, assumed this would be an ordinary rat snake. Even then, it would be his first ever snake call in two years on the job. When he arrived on the scene, near the intersection of Apache Drive and Broadway Boulevard, he saw this was no ordinary rat snake.

The python stretched 15 feet, its massive body slithering across the yard. Nearby, a man peered down from his truck, where he took refuge to escape the reptile.

“My heart sank a little bit when I saw it,” Jaramillo told The Dallas Morning News on Tuesday. “I was like ‘Oh boy.’”

Facebook

Video posted by the city Tuesday showed the 15-foot reticulated python wriggling across the grass as a crowd gathered to watch in horror and perhaps fascination.

Jaramillo said he first grabbed the snake hook, which he quickly realized would be far too small. He then tried to grab the python with his bare hands, which the snake did not like and attempted to strike back. When the snake headed toward the road, Jaramillo pulled it back into the yard.

“It was agitated,” he said. “They’re a lot faster than you think it would be.”

The python eventually slithered into the engine of a nearby truck, and Jaramillo lured it out by making loud noises. After about two hours, he was able to capture the animal using a net and catch pole. A co-worker delivered a tote bag large enough to hold the snake.

On Facebook, the city of Garland praised Jaramillo for staying “calm, professional, and focused on protecting the community and the animal.”

For his part, Jaramillo said he was shaking the entire time.

Authorities later found the snake’s owner, who was in the process of moving when the animal got loose. The owner plans to reclaim the python Wednesday and move it to its new home outside Garland, said Alberto Maldonado, community outreach coordinator for Garland Animal Services.

The owner was not cited, Maldonado said, adding that he had a state license to own an exotic pet.

Reticulated pythons are the longest snakes in the world and among the heaviest. They can grow up to 25 feet long and weigh well over 100 pounds. The snakes are constrictors, which means they kill prey by wrapping around them and squeezing.

In very rare cases, the pythons have swallowed humans.

This is not the first time a loose snake menaced North Texas. In 2021, a highly venomous cobra escaped its unsecured enclosure in Grand Prairie, where residents were so worried they reported losing sleep.

The snake’s owner was sentenced to 15 months of community supervision. The snake was never found.

A 15-foot yellow python weighing 85 pounds had to be pulled from a parked car’s engine Saturday night. After more than two hours, the Garland Animal Control Officer safely captured the python.

It was around 11 p.m. Saturday when Alejandro Jaramillo, the Garland Animal Control Officer, got a call.

“They just told me that it was gonna be a snake. I did not know that when I would arrive, it would be a 15-foot python,” Jaramillo said.

Jaramillo’s snake prongs, he said, were of no use.

“Normally, we use these to grab the head of the snake so you can control it. Obviously, its head was too big to be controlled by this and it was too strong,” Jaramillo said.

Instead, Jaramillo had to use a net and a catch pole. Still, the snake continued to slither away.

“It turned around when I pulled its tail and tried to lunge at me,” Jaramillo recalled. “From there, it slithered underneath his truck and then went up into his engine bay to where I had to attempt to pull it out or lure it out.”

The latest news from around North Texas.

Nick Garza lives next door.

“It was crazy,” Garza said. “It was huge… it was like a snake you see at the zoo, you know?”

It was the size and color of the snake that helped experts determine the snake was likely someone’s pet.

“A 15-foot python doesn't happen naturally. It has to have been fed in good condition and stuff like that. So that's how we kind of knew,” Alberto Maldonado said.

Maldonado is the community outreach coordinator for the Garland Animal Shelter. “And on top of that, it was banana colored. So, that is another indication that a lot of people have like a pet (snake).”

Within six hours of its safe capture, Maldonado said numerous people volunteered to foster the python.

“It’s being taken care of,” Maldonado said. “In the city of Garland, regardless of the size of the animal or the shape or what kind of animal it is, we're always going to be there to provide our services for them.”

On Tuesday morning, Maldonado was notified that the owner of the python had come forward.

“The owner of the Python was actually moving addresses. He's moving out of the city limits. And in the meantime, he decided to put up the snake enclosure and put the python in a temporary case for it to be living for a little while,” Maldonado said.

The snake, however, made its way out. The snake was found near Apache and Broadway in South Garland.

“It didn't get very far at all, if anything. It just had to cross one major road, and it was there. So, I'd say about maybe like 400 yards, if that.”

Maldonado said the owner will not face any citations.

“Just like how we don't get you in trouble for your dog running out at large, it's the same thing. It's a pet. It was an isolated incident,” Maldonado said. “It was an accident, and he came forward, gave us all the paperwork and documentation to prove that it was his.”

The owner will only have to pay a standard impound fee before being reunited with their pet.
